University of Louisiana at Monroe Online Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Special Education (Mild/Moderate) Grades 1-12 Alternative Certification ULMGOLD program is best for those candidates who already have a Bachelors degree in a field outside of education and want to pursue Louisiana teacher certification.
This program consists of 36 hours. Phase I Courses include EDFN 5081 (3 hours); SPED 5003 (3 hours); CURR 5045A or 5045B (3 hours); and SPED 5005 (3 hours).
Phase II Courses include READ 5002 (3 hours); SPED 5002 (3 hours); SPED 5062 (Internship) (6 hours).
Phase III courses include EDFN 5024 (3 hours); EDFN 5024 (3 hours); PSYC 5052 (3 hours); and READ 5001 (3 hours).
For getting admission in the program, a candidate must have a 2.5 actual/ adjusted grade point average on all Undergraduate coursework. He is also required to fulfill other conditions including classroom observations hours, passing score on Praxis I test, Praxis II Content Test, TEACH Delta Region application packet, etc.
