Technology Management

Technology Management is a relatively new field in the industry that deals with the devising new policies and methods for the intelligent use of technology. In this field, generally professionals with background in technology and applied social science such as economics, management, political science, etc., are required. The Doctoral (PhD) Program in Technology Management being offered by some universities is intended to train students to have complete knowledge about scientific and engineering developments. These students also gain comprehensive knowledge about important economic and political organizations operating internationally. They are also taught about different ethical issues related to technology. The students of these programs work with a number of research centers and educational institutions related to the study of large-scale systems.

Online PhD in Technology Management - ISU

Indiana State University - Online Doctoral (PhD) Program in Technology Management program is divided into the sections of General Technology Core of 15 credit hours, Research Core and Dissertation of 30 credit hours, Technical Specialization course of 24 - 30 credit hours, Internship course of 6 credit hours and Cognate Studies course of 12-18 credit hours.

The General Technology Core course teaches about the conceptual framework for studies in technology and focuses on the application of technology in the societal context.

The Research Core focuses on research design, methodology, and statistical analysis. A student needs to submit the original research dissertation work in a technology-related study to complete this course.

Internship program gives the opportunity to work within the industry related to technology transfer and application. In Cognate studies program, a student can study and work on the previous graduate work or study an additional concentrated area that may not be related to technology studies.
