Online Certificate in Visual Impairment - ISU
Indiana State University - Online Certificate in Visual Impairment program is a graduate licensure program that has been designed by the joint efforts of Indiana State University, Ball State University, Project Vision, and the Indiana Department of Education, Center for Exceptional Learners. This program consists of 16 credit hours and includes a total of 6 courses.
The main courses included in the program include: The Eye, Its Functions and Health; Programs and Services for Individuals with Visual Impairments; Communication Skills for Individuals with Visual Impairments; Instructional Accommodations for Individuals with Visual Impairment; Principles of Orientation and Mobility; and Practicum in Teaching Students with Visual Impairment.
This program can be completed by distance education mode; however, a student needs to attend selected evening & weekend sessions on university campus.
A candidate needs to hold (or be eligible for) an Indiana teaching license in Special Education or General Education for getting admission in this program.
Those candidates who hold an Indiana teaching license in General Education may be asked to take some additional courses. Candidates are advised to contact Project Vision before applying for admission in this program.
