Indiana State University - Online Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner program consisting of 22 - 33 credit hours is designed for the registered nurses who hold a master degree in nursing and wish to have a Family Nurse Practitioner Certification.

The final credit hours required by a candidate to complete the certification program depend on the previous courses completed during the master degree program. A minimum of 22 -27 credit hours are required to be completed by the students with nursing master degree that included a course on nurse practitioner. A minimum of 33 credit hours are required to completed by the students with nursing master degree that did not include a course on nurse practitioner.

This program is recognized by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). A student can apply for American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification after completing this certification program.

A student can complete this program entirely by distance education mode and no campus visits are required. This program is open to in-state, out-of-state, and international students who fulfill the minimum requirements for the program.
