Breyer State University - Online Master of Gerontology Counseling Psychology program consists of 54 semester hours. The courses include Foundations of Gerontology (4 hrs), Issues in Gerontology (4 hrs), Gerontology Counseling I (4 hrs), Cultural & Social Issues in Gerontology (4 hrs), Issues in Death and Dying (4 hrs), Advanced Gerontology Counseling (4 hrs), Group Counseling with the Elderly (4 hrs), Ethics in Gerontology (4 hrs), Gerontology and Social Services (4 hrs), and Symposium and Practicum (18 hrs).

A student gets 10 weeks’ time to complete an online course. If a student wants the time limit to be extended, permission of the instructor is required. A bachelor degree in psychology, social work, counseling psychology, nursing, geriatrics, or a related field is required for getting admission in this program. The program allows students to transfer college credits/ courses earned previously during their college programs to this program.

Career Options Available for a Master of Gerontology Counseling Psychology
A student after completing a masters degree in gerontology counseling psychology can work as a gerontology counselor, gerontology behavioral specialist, or gerontology researcher. Other options include working as an educator or consultant in gerontology field.
