Counseling psychology field generates lots of job positions for the professionals. Counseling centers, hospitals, large organizations and offices are always in need of psychology counselors. The main job of these professionals is to advice people on the methods that can be used to deal with problems of everyday life. Today, a number of universities offer counseling psychology degrees. During these programs, students learn about theories of personalities, group counseling, psychopathology, and counseling techniques. They also learn about ethics, brief therapy, family counseling, marriage counseling, children counseling and various tests and measurements.
Breyer State University - Online Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology
Breyer State University - Online Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program consists of 70 semester hours. The courses include Theories of Personality (6 hrs), Psychopathology (6 hrs), Counseling Techniques and Theories (6 hrs), Tests and Measurements (6 hrs), Ethics in Counseling (6 hrs), Group Counseling (6 hrs), Brief Therapy (6 hrs), Marriage and Family Counseling (6 hrs), Brief Therapy with Children and Adolescents (6 hrs), Substance Abuse Counseling (6 hrs), and Independent Study Course (10 hrs).
A student gets 10 weeks’ time to complete an online course. If a student wants the time limit to be extended, permission of the instructor is required. A bachelor degree in psychology, behavior psychology, clinical psychology, addictions counseling psychology, etc., is required for getting admission in this program. The program allows students to transfer college credits/ courses earned previously during their college programs to this program.
This program does not prepare a student for a license in counseling.

Students after completing a master degree in counseling psychology can work as a student counselor, organizational psychologist assistant, hospital counselor, or helpline counselor. They can also get job opportunities as focus group coordinator or assistant to a psychologist or crisis counselor.
