Breyer State University - Online Bachelor of Journalism program consists of 110 semester hours. The courses include Society and the Press (6 hrs), News Reporting and Writing (6 hrs), Ethics in News Reporting (6 hrs), Proof Reading and Editing (6 hrs), Broadcast News Reporting( 6 hrs), Photo Journalism (6 hrs), Advertising Layout/Design (6 hrs), Copywriting, Feature Writing and Freelance (6 hrs), Advanced Reporting and Writing (6 hrs), International Journalism (6 hrs), Journalism Symposium Course (20 hrs), and Journalism Practicum (30 hrs).

A student gets 10 weeks’ time to complete an online course. If a student wants the time limit to be extended, permission of the instructor is required. The symposium courses needs to be completed within six months.

A student needs to have a high school diploma or an earned GED for getting admission in this program. The program allows students to transfer college credits/ courses earned previously during their college programs to this program.

Career opportunities in the journalism exist in two fields: Print and Electronic. Various positions in the print media include associate editor, sub-editor, editor, proof reader, reporter, correspondent, writer, feature writer, critic, and photojournalist. In electronic media, a student can join as a researcher, production worker, floor manager, transmission executive, reporter, presenter, etc.
