This program consists of 120 Semester hours. The five main courses include Introduction to Art (8 hrs), Art in Theory, Philosophy & History (8 hrs), Survey of Western Art I (8 hrs), Survey of Western Art II (8 hrs) and History of Color & Mixing Colors (8 hrs).
The elective courses include Italian Renaissance Art (8 hrs), Egyptian Art (8 hrs), Greek Art (8 hrs), Medieval Art (8 hrs), Early Christian and Byzantium Art (8 hrs), Asian Art (8 hrs), French Art (8 hrs), Painting in Spain: El Greco to Goya ( 8 hrs), Japanese Art (8 hrs), Chinese Art (8 hrs), Baroque & Rocco: Art & Culture ( 8 hrs), Pre-Columbian Art (8 hrs). A student needs to complete any 7 of the above-mentioned electives.
After the elective courses, students have to complete Theories and Methods of Art Historical Research course (16 hrs).
A student needs to have a high school diploma or an earned GED to get admission in this program.
