Arkansas State University (ASTATE)
Originally established as Regional Agricultural Training School in Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA in the year 1909 and undergoing many evolutions and changes, it received the status of full university as Arkansas State University (ASTATE) in the year 1967. The university is spread across a vast area of more than 800 acres. It is ranked third in the state of Arkansas in terms of student enrollment. ASTATE has staff and faculty totaling more than 1400 and student enrollment of about 17, 500 students.
The university has a total of 11 colleges viz.: College of Business, College of Agriculture & Technology, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Communications, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Fine Arts, College of Sciences and Mathematics, College of Nursing and Health Professions, University College, Honors College, and Graduate School. Through these colleges the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in more than 168 areas. Office of Research and Technology Transfer (ORTT) is the flagship program of ASTATE that coordinates innovation, research and scholarship in Arkansas State University.
