Named after padmabushan Dr. R.M. Alagappa Chettiar, and located in the Karaikudi in Sivaganga District in Tamil Nadu, India, Alagappa University was established in the year 1985. It is a Grade A university accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Alagappa University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. It has 18 Departments, 5 Centres and 2 Constituent Colleges on its campus. Moreover, the university has 28 Affiliated Colleges affiliated to it which are located in the districts of Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram.
